The first thing you must do before you can embark upon your journey in Eaxia is to choose the general makeup of your character. You have many options that you will be faced with in the character management system before being released into the land.

First you will need to choose a name for your character. This being a medieval fantasy world, please choose a name that is appropriate for the genre. Consult the official policy on naming for more information. You will be able to choose a first and last name for your character.

Next you will be able to choose your character's gender and attributes. Attributes or ability scores are specific qualities that allow your character to better survive the world you are about to enter. These ability scores are: strength, intelligence, wisdom, stamina, agility, and coordination. Each of these affects different aspects of the gaming environment from spellcasting to the ability to carry more items. Please visit the official library for information on these traits. If you are unsure on how to manipulate your ability scores, you can choose the option to have the character management system either set you up with a pre-packaged character (where you let the sytem choose your race, ability scores, and physical attributes) or you can let the computer set your ability scores while you retain control over your racial and physical options. The last option is to choose everything yourself, and until you understand the effects of ability scores, you might want to stick to the first two options.

Next you will choose your race. Each of the races of Eaxia Online have individual traits and characteristics that make them more suited to various walks of life. The races also have ability score adjustments that cause them to have less or more of a given ability score. Please see my list of racial attributes for information on each race.

Finally you will be able to choose your character's physical appearance. Depending on the race you choose, you will be able to determine your character's eye color, hair color and length, and skin color. Other races have extra choices, such as Avians' feather color.

After you finish setting your physical appearance, you will exit the character manager and arrive in the world of Eaxia. Your starting position is outside of the bank in Semanri Town Square South. You will hear other adventurers refer to this as STS, so I will from now on. This is a common meeting spot for adventurers and has a donation box for new players.

Your character development should not end after you enter the realms. You should take it upon yourself to get into a role-playing frame of mind and build a persona for your character to take on while he or she adventurers in Eaxia. Many people even build backgrounds for their characters, giving them a reason for how they behave and a purpose for their lives. Use your imagination, and your character has the potential to be memorable and unique.
