The Monk guild is a base class (levels 1-20) with prestige options available to the Druid, Martial Artist, Mentalist (planned), and Shaman (planned) guilds.

Guild Location: D'Mare Fin
Guildleader: Etaros - Etaros, a Half-Elf of indistinguishable age, seems always in intense meditation, whether talking or quiet. By looking at his thin frame and sinewy muscles, it is obvious that he has somehow completely mastered his body and transcended any limitations that it would impose. His hair is cut off directly below his jawline and frames his face, which is inset with penetrating brown eyes. As he moves quickly around the room you notice that on some steps his feet do not touch the ground at all.

Etaros' Speech:

Entaros smiles at you quietly for a long moment.

"Greetings to you fellow wanderer. We monks originally came from monasteries that are scattered over the lands. These are places of worship and are to this day veiled in mystery, to all but a few. We practice the form of attaining personal physical perfection that encompasses both mind and body."

"We Monks are able to walk among the people, fully able to defend those, or ourselves in need, with either our bare hands or an assortment of exotic weapons. We revere law and cannot act with unlawful purposes, although you will find monks who are good, and those that are evil, that is your own choice. Individually perfecting one's self in mind and body, is the monks lifelong goal. Inner harmony is your goal and for that, you must choose your own path."

"The skill that makes a monk unique is their ability to fight unarmed and without armor. In fact, you are not proficient with armor or shields, your most deadly weapons instead are these..."

Etaros grabs your hands in a viselike gripe so quickly you never saw his hands move. You stand paralyzed in his grasp. His unwavering eyes seeming to seek your innermost thoughts.

Releasing your hands, Etaros taps you soundly on the forehead and in the center of your chest and you instantly regain control of yourself.

"Combined with mind and spirit they far outweigh even the most deadly sword."

"Monks are not generally the types to show off their skills, but we will use them, rather to surmount challenges that pass our way. Take heed, the monk most often shall disdain personal wealth or fame, instead seeking a higher, more spiritual or difficult personal goals."
